By Terry Schilling

A great camp this past weekend in Stephenville, TX as 100 athletes came out to compete. Here are the award winners from the camp.

2014 DL Trey Lealaimatafao from Earl Warren High School in San Antonio, TX was one of the leadership award winners.  Trey was the top defensive player and one of the most talented players overall at the camp.  The 6'0" 265 lbs lineman impressed all the coaches with his talents on the field and positive attitude off the field.  During the dynamic warmups with the Marine Corps to individual drills he was a leader by example.  Defensive Line coach Ernest Jones said "the sky is the limit for Trey."  During 1 on 1's he couldn't be stopped as he overpowered the offensive lineman and used great pass rushing moves to get to the quarterback.  Coach Jones had Trey go through the whole offensive line and no one could stop him.  The most impressive thing about him was his explosion off the ball, we haven't see any other lineman got off the ball quicker than Trey.  He has all the tools right now to be a very good lineman and over the next 2 years he will only get better.  If you haven't heard of Trey Lealaimatafao you need to take a better look as he is going to be a highly recruited prospect.  He already has interest from a lot of schools and says USC is his top choice.

2013 DB Preston Brown from Stephenville High School in Stephenville, TX was the other award winner.  Preston is no stranger to success at JuniorRank events as he was the MVP of last years Aledo, TX camp and won the fastest man race at the Proving Ground Combine.  Preston is one of the fastest athletes we have seen over the years as he displayed that again running a 4.34 40 yard dash at the camp.  Preston also showed great coverage skills, good footwork and uses his speed to close on defenders.  Recruiting is just starting to heat up for Preston as he is drawing interest from Texas, Texas A&M and other Big 12 schools.  More Division 1 schools should really pay attention to Brown, he may not have the best size for DB at 5'10" 175 lbs but with his skills scouts shouldn't even think about that.

Notable Players at the Stephenville Camp

2013 OL Tristan Nickelson - Nickelson is from Houston, TX and plays at Clear Falls High School.  Tristan is one of the biggest O-lineman in the country at 6'8" 292 lbs.  He isn't just a big lineman who takes up space, Tristan has a lot of potential and a lot of schools are interested.  He uses his hands well and is very strong but needs to polish his footwork and lateral movement.  Tristan has already received offers from top programs and whoever lands him will get a kid with tons of potential who could become a great tackle in college.

2014 QB Caisson Montieth - Caisson plays at Comanche High School in Comanche, TX.  The junior to be was the top QB at the camp.  He has good size at 6'1" 180 lbs and has a very strong arm.  He is a polished pockets passer and has great technique.  Throws a great ball and displayed his accuracy during 7 on 7s.  One of the stronger arms we've seen this season.  Caisson is coming a knee injury but he will be ready for this season and expect big numbers from him the next two seasons.

2014 DB John Carlile - Carlile plays at host high school Stephenville, TX.  As a sophomore he was one of the top safeties in Texas.  He impressed all the coaches as he kept making plays.  Has good speed and hands and a very smart player.  During drills he showed great technique and during 7 on 7s he was always around the ball.  Has great size for a safety at 6'2" 190 lbs and over these next few years a lot of schools will be after him.

2013 RB Ovie Urevbu - Ovie is from Plano, TX and plays at Legacy Christian Academy.  One of the stronger running backs we've seen and the top RB at the camp.  Has good speed and showed good agility during drills.  The 5'10" 180 lbs running back has interest from a few schools and will sure to have more with a good senior year.

2013 DL Xavier Daughtery - Xavier traveled from Shreveport, LA to the camp.  Xavier impressed during 1 on 1s as he displayed a good burst off the ball and good speed around the corner.  He may not be the biggest lineman at 5'11" 210 lbs but has a lot of potential and schools should really give Xavier a good look.
